Foxfield Steam Railway

Foxfield Steam Railway on DVD

The Foxfield Railway was contructed in 1893 to carry coal from Foxfield Colliery to Blythe Bridge in North Staffordshire.

Following the closure of the colliery in 1965 , this small line was rescued by volunteers who set up the Foxfield Light Railway Society. Today the Foxfield operates as a passenger - carrying railway, but also runs haulage trains - so enthusiasts can see how the line used to operate.

Both the stations complex - with its Museum - and the colliery site continue to be developed. Special events are held , such as the WORLD WAR II EVENT featured on this DVD, and passengers can enjoy the North Staffordshire countryside on the four-mile scenic route.

A Production of STAFFORDSHIRE FILM ARCHIVE.

ONLY £12.99 on DVD.
