World renowned Staffordshire documentary film maker and founder of the Staffordshire Film Archive, Ray Johnson presents "Power over the Clay" (40 minutes) and "There's Diamonds under Dirt" (30 minutes - black & white).
"Power over the Clay" : Made in 1975 as a 'prequel' to "Diamonds", this is a more introductory colour film and charts the social and industrial history of the area, and some of the current planning considerations and completed reclamation schemes.
There are period reconstructions using actors, plus some archive film. It was made as a community project and involved many local people.
